Special notes:
A Remembrance for Jerry Nolan of Cypress was held during the Derby. Jerry was a founder of the Annual Trout Derby, a great supporter of the event, and never met anyone who was not a friend.
He will be missed by the community of Independence and all the Derby fishing kids and grownups.
Jerry’s wife, Charmaine has been the “poster girl” for past derbies with her giant trout and a smile just as big.
Chad Hastings caught the only Brown Trout. It may have been small, but it was beautiful!
The Friends of the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery made many friends with the hot barbecued buffalo sandwiches and all the trimmings. The Independence Chamber of Commerce appreciates the support given to the Friends.
